Sandblasting, Poly Zinc Undercoat & Powder Coated Finish – standard on all Midland Trailers
All Midland Trailers go through this process for a number of reasons. We are all about producing quality trailers and have found that ensuring all Midland Trailers are sandblasted, have poly zinc undercoat and finished with a powder offer the following:
- Prevents rusting
- Outlasts 2 pac paint
- The need for respray is not required for many years
- Very easy to patch without the risk of paint flaking away around the patch.
- Provides an attractive smooth finish in a variety of colours.
Powder coated trailers are also more resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and extreme weather conditions. In turn, Midland Trailers are less likely to scratch, chip, corrode or fade. In short – it’s tough, looks great and lasts a long, long time.
We have attached the following picture of the lab test results we have under taken on our process of poly zinc undercoat and powder coated finish versus other common practices.
During this lab test we put both samples under consistent salt spray and the results are obvious. The under coated and powder coated sample is still in reasonable condition after 3000hours, the 2 pac painted sample was removed from the testing area at 100hours due to significant failure.
